Despite Pantone’s declaration that 2022 is the year of Very Peri, another hue is set to steal the stage – at least when it comes to interior colors.
In fact, when announcing their 2022 color trend predictions, most paint authorities highlighted a shade of green as their leading color contender. Why?
Green, ranging from the practically neutral to the vibrantly verdant, has a precedent to back its continued success this year. Two years of being cooped up has left us longing to create a link with the outdoors inside our homes – and the organic color’s simultaneously soothing and uplifting quality is the perfect bridge between indoor and beyond.
To explore the versatility of green as a leading interior color, check out a few of our favorite spaces that may leave you feeling a little green with envy:
Subtle Touches
A little green goes a long way in bringing color and charm to your space, and this dreamy bathroom is case and point! The walls of this petite powder room are wrapped with our Jessamine Green Floral Trail wallpaper, a sweet yet sophisticated design featuring songbirds perched among flowering vines. Elevating the romance of the wallpaper is a golden mirror with embellished rosettes along its top curve and a simple porcelain pedestal sink with a gold faucet.

Even the most hectic of workdays would be tempered by the grounding tranquility of this green geometric accent wall. Flanked by complementary olive-green display cases with glass and gold grated doors, this organization showpiece is both chic and earthy – especially when counterbalanced by the fabulous navy-blue vaulted ceiling! Overall, we can’t think of a more enviable video-call backdrop.

Green & Pink Pairings
Take your green up a notch by pairing it with pink! This interior color combo was a big color trend in 2021, and the mix still has its fans this year as well! The success of this combination lies in the fact that green and red (and by extension, red’s lighter self, pink) are opposites on the color wheel, thus strengthening and brightening each other when paired.
This entryway by interior designer Gina Sims illustrates how powerful the pairing can be. The chic green geometric wallpaper and forest-green front door adds a rich infusion of color to this space. Alone it would be lovely, but by adding the contrasting fuchsia rug runner, both colors become richer and more impactful.

It was love at first sight for Jenni Deeble when she saw our Celestine Green Floral wallpaper; its elaborate Art Nouveau styling and blend of rich greens and soft pinks spoke directly to her grandmillennial soul. Paired with some eclectic décor accents and bold pops of color and pattern throughout, this timeless floral adds rich color and character to this chic dining area.

Not only is the green and pink color trend great for bold looks, it’s also a wonderful pairing for softer, more romantic aesthetics as well. Case and point, this dreamy European farmhouse bedroom Deb Foglia designed for her young daughter. The tulip damask wallpaper, with its soft pinks and greens on white, adds old world character and sweetness to the space. Layers of warm, neutral bedding and cool, green-grey beadboard and trim add depth to the space while elevating its romantic, high-country charm.

Green Glamour
This round-up wouldn’t be complete without at least one glamorous green design – especially considering the widespread embrace of maximalist styling in the past year. Fortunately, we have a luxurious, Art Deco-inspired space that’s virtually guaranteed to knock your socks off!
The star of this space is most certainly the wallpaper. The graphic leaf design not only features the bold, architectural shapes that define Art Deco styling, but also several high-fashion finishes: luxurious, velvety green flock and pearlescent white insets. The combination adds incredible depth and decadence to the space, which is rounded out by wooden blinds framed by white drapes, a medley of colorful throw pillows on a plush window seat, and an eclectic mix of art and sculptural accents.
