While it wouldn’t come to fruition for another three years, LoveShackFancy was conceived during Rebecca Hessel Cohen’s gorgeous and ethereal Bridgehampton wedding. When the perfect bridesmaid dresses couldn’t be found, Rebecca decided to design her own. From that experience, Rebecca’s vision for fashion that celebrated femininity, enchantment and vintage design was born.
As much as LoveShackFancy embodies all things timeless and romantic, it is also a love-letter to Rebecca’s past and present experiences. The brand’s latest evolution in home décor shares Rebecca’s love of interior design and homemaking with the world. And as she was developing her debut wallpaper collection with A-Street Prints, she was kind enough to share her insights on the experience:
When did you first fall in love with fashion and design?
I’ve always been attuned to womenswear and to what people are wearing when they feel their most confident and effortlessly chic. Fashion became a love of mine when I began to grasp just how empowering it can be as a form of expression.
What first brought you professionally to the fashion world? Did you plan on making a career out of your passion, or did you find yourself here over time?
My journey into the fashion world started when I couldn’t find any dresses to match the vision I had for my wedding. From there, I decided to create my own line that grew into LoveShackFancy! It all happened very naturally, and I am so grateful for the amazing experience it has become.
What inspires your iconic style?
My style has developed through my love of all things girly, romantic, and whimsical. I love making my everyday wardrobe feel like a fairytale with the most chic and feminine styles.
What motivated you to translate your fashion line into home décor? Expanding into home décor was the most natural progression for me. My favorite memories are made with my loved ones inside our home and creating a space that matches the love and joy we feel gathered together is so important to me. I have combined my sweet, flirty, and feminine style into this collection, and I can’t wait to continue entertaining with this dreamy line. |  |
What drew you to designing your own wallpaper collection?
I am always very involved in the design of our homes and have the best time sourcing special wallpaper, so naturally when the opportunity came to create our very own LoveShackFancy wallpaper the answer was, obviously, yes!
What feelings does your complete home décor line invoke? What can one expect to experience in a LoveShackFancy home?
A LoveShackFancy home is full of laughter, smiles, and the best company. It’s the joy of dancing around and making happy memories with your favorite people. This line tells the story of a loving space and a place to truly call home.
What has made A-Street Prints it the perfect partner for producing your wallpaper collection?
I am so happy to have dreamt up this line with A-Street Prints! Their intricate, delicate patterns and attention to detail have been wonderful.
